Hang when using Dell's
Recovery CD
For some reasons that
you need to use the provided
Dell Recovery CD, please
make sure that your Dell
PC does not have additional
hardware installed. The
recovery CD should run
smoothly if your PC is
still in the original
hardware configuration.
If you have installed
additional hardware, for
example a CD Writer (internal),
the Windows XP installation
will hang at stage "Installing
and detecting devices".
So what you need to do
is to remove the ATA cable
of the CD Writer from
the motherboard.
Re-run the Dell's Recovery
CD. After the setup is
completed, then you attached
back the ATA cable.
